As Nick crashed into an oncoming car, with a loud noise, he unexpectedly underwent time travel. He arrived in 1929 and found Great Depression hit America. When he traveled back to his time, Nick advised Gatsby not to put money in the bank or buy stocks to avoid bankruptcy.
